It was great to hear
Helmiina's presentation about her exchange year in Australia at the breakfast meeting last Friday morning. She has experienced some amazing parts of Australia whilst on Safari with the other exchange students and made wonderful friendships. It has been a privilege to watch Helmiina grow in confidence and maturity throughout the past year and we will miss her when
she returns to Finland in July. We hope she will keep in touch over the years and maybe return to visit some time in the future. I have included photos from the presentation and the farewell dinner in the
photo albums section of this bulletin
see here.
Thank you to the host families who have looked after Helmiina whilst she was here including the Buick, Balian, Nowiczewski and Vaz families. Thank you also to Terrie McConnell, Annette Billington and Pam Bennett for their ongoing support of Helmiina throughout her stay. It was also lovely to see John and Dee Brown at the farewell dinner for Helmiina on Friday evening. John and Dee oversee the District 9685 Exchange program and also play a very important role in supporting the Exchange students whilst here as well as the outbound students.
