Welcome to another edition of our Rotary Club of North Ryde bulletin.
As we continue powering along in our Rotary year, as Presidents, Peter and I have been attending meetings with our District Governor and team leaders/presidents of our area.
The meetings have been productive and thought-provoking. Are we proud Rotarians, where we would like to see Rotary in the future and how can we, as individual clubs in an amazing District, help achieve our goals and grow our Club? No solid plans are in force yet, so we put it to you, how would you like to see your Rotary in the future. Do we stick to traditions, do we do the same old things or do we get moving in a new direction in achieving all Rotary achievements. Do we involve more Corporates in our area in our Club projects? Please discuss your thoughts at our meetings, and people we have outside of our Club, please let Peter or me know how we can help you achieve any ideas you may have. Personally, Peter and I would like to be part of a progressive and modern Rotary, suitable to our Nation and Community, whilst still be able to help other Clubs around the world achieve their goals.
Speaking of our Community, we had another wonderful day last Saturday, the 15th of August, with our BBQ at Gladesville Bunnings for the horse’s birthday, and to also celebrate and support the work done by the Riding Develops Abilities Ryde Centre at Marsfield. Muffin, the pony, made an appearance, and the kids (and the big kids as well) adored her being there. We had many helpers on the day. We are so proud to be able to support the horse therapy offered to children through this wonderful organization. More information from https://rdaryde.org.au/
Our local Ritchies IGA at North Ryde have invited us to BBQ for their Community Day on the 5th of September 2026. It is a great chance to network with our community and give sausages out for a gold coin donation. Looking forward to seeing you all there from 9:30am, until about 1:00pm. Ritchies IGA will be providing the food etc.
The Ryde Eisteddfod is still in full swing and urgently needs volunteers for the remaining sessions. Please contact them through the official webpage to offer your help for a few hours here and there. It is very special to witness the talent available in our community.
