DISTRICT AWARDS
The club awards were presented ‘remotely’ this year at the last Zoom Presidents’ meeting of the year. And CONGRATULATIONS go to the following clubs for their outstanding service to our District and to those in the community who have benefited from all your efforts and contributions – you are all amazing!!!
The board thought that it would be a good idea to try and have a face to face club meeting, come social gathering, as soon as we can. Zoom meetings are great, but nothing beats face to face even from an appropriate distance.
We thought a morning tea in a park would fit the bill. Saturday 13th June was suggested, at around 10 am. The venue suggested was Blenheim Park, North Ryde. There are toilets and a playground available.
It would be a case of bring your own chair or rug, drinks and eats. I am sure the coffee aficionados will know where the closest takeaway coffee outlet is!
The group will be restricted to 10 with the 1.5 metres physical distancing to apply. Depending on numbers, we could split into 2 or more appropriately separated groups. Negotiations could be had to swap between groups during the morning.
Before we really firm up the arrangements could you please let me know if you feel comfortable with this type of meeting and whether you would like to attend on Saturday the 13th. Partners and children are of course welcome. If it is wet, we will just cancel.
Could you please let me know as soon as possible whether you can make it.
As you will be aware we had planned on having our Rotary Club Changeover Celebration Dinner at Basil’s Restaurant on Friday 26 June. But due to COVID - 19 we have had to cancel this event.
However, to support Tim at Basil’s, and with the restrictions easing from the 1st June, we are organising a club social dinner at Basil’s on Friday 26 June, starting at 7pm.
We will be in a seperate room to the main dinning room, and Tim will arrange the seating, taking into account the Physical Distancing requirements at that time. We are hoping that between 10 and 20 people will be able to attend the dinner. The dinner is for club members and partners.
Please see attached the ‘Menu’ that Tim has provided for our dinner. Drinks can be purchased separately.
Could you please let me know if you will be able to attend and the number of people attending, i.e. just you (1), you and a partner (2).
So, Friday 26 June at 7pm.
Have a look at the attached Menu and make your choice on the night. Buy your own drinks. How many attending.
Please let me know by Friday, 12 June, if are able to attend?
If you have any questions please contact me, on 0426230458
Usually, at this time of year, you’ll see us Rotarians throughout local shopping centres and the like rattling buckets, waving banners, EFT machines in hand raising much needed funds for The Salvation Army on their Red Shield Appeal Weekend.
This year, due to restrictions forced upon us by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to do that. So how can we help?
Rotary Clubs working hand in hand with The Salvos goes back many years and never before have they needed us more!
