On Saturday 6 September our club participated in the Cox's Road Family Fun Day by having a BBQ there.
We were invited to run the BBQ by Cox's Road Mall Management and Ritchies IGA who organised the day.
Seb Lentini, from Cox's Road Management, supplied the sausages and onions that we cooked on the day and Ahmed Allam, the Manager of Ritchies IGA in the Mall, supplied the bread and sauces we used at the BBQ.
We also had support from Rev. John Chappell, from St Johns Church in Cox's Road, who supplied the 2 BBQs that we used on the day. John also supplied tables and a sound system that we used to entertain the crowd and publicise the BBQ.
I would like to thank the wonderful team of helpers that gave up their time to be there.
From the setup at 8:30am we had Bernie and Peter Mason, Mandy and Ian Van, Rob Wilkinson, Nick Martorana and Seb Lentini.
Later in the day we also had help from Kavitha Sankaran, the new Manager of Bendigo Bank in Cox's Road and Jenny, a friend and work colleague of Kavitha. Mei Yamamoto, our Rotary Youth Exchange Student, from Japan was also there as well as Edith Spalding, our outgoing Youth Exchange Student for 2026, along with her Mother Natasha.
We would like to thank Jerome Laxale MP, the Federal Member for Bennelong, and Anthony Roberts MP, Member for Lane Cove for their support and donation.
We asked for a gold coin donation for a sausage sandwich.
This resulted in us making $1,382 on the day. A fantastic result for our club.
$300 of this was from the sale of the cheese board packages we have for sale. Please keep these in mind for gifts for family and friends. Please contact our club if you are interested in purchasing a cheese board, valued at $140 and for sale at $50.
A big thank you to Cox's Road Management and Ritchies IGA for supporting our club in this way.
