At our meeting on Friday, Dr Denise Meuldjik from Macquarie University's Centre for Emotional Health provided us with some great insight into signs and symptoms of stress and how to manage stress in our lives. Dr Meuldjik also spoke about two research projects that are being undertaken at the Centre for Emotional Health that members might be interested in volunteering for. I have included some information from Dr Meuldjik in this bulletin for anyone interested in registering for these studies or for the database.
Unfortunately, I was unable to attend the Macquarie Park Rotary trivia night on Saturday evening as planned. Feedback from President Trina Phillips was that it was a fun evening and a successful fundraiser for the club. thank you to our members who attended. it is very important that we support our fellow clubs in their projects and activities as they support ours. The Rotary Club of Ryde is having their trivia night on Saturday 4 May. David Martin is organising a table from our club, please contact David if you would like to be part of the team from North Ryde. We have also been invited to attend the 73rd birthday dinner for the Rotary Club of Ryde to be held on Tuesday 16 April. See here for more information.
Unfortunately Fiona McCulloch will not be able to come to this week's club meeting due to work commitments. Fiona was to present a workshop on Public Image to assist our club is planning to enhance and raise our image in the community. We hope that Fiona will be able to provide some information to assist us wth the planning at a future club assembly. This week Past President Brian Powell and President-Elect Mak Khalil will chair a club assembly instead.
I wont be able to attend this week's meeting as I will be supporting my daughter's young family. Thank you to for the kind thoughts and messages of support from members and friends regarding my daughters illness. I will do my best to fulfil my commitments as President for the remainder of this Rotary year , but will need to step back at times.
Kind regards
