Dear Rotarians and Friends,
Happy New Year! I hope everyone has had a good break. This is our 1st Bulletin for 2026.
Last year, we had our successful Rotary Carols On the Common. Our inbound exchange student Mei, has gone back to Japan on 3rd January 2026. Besides that, our outbound student Edith departed 17th January 2026 for Denmark. We farewelled her on the day with a team video during the January Bunnings BBQ.
There were lots of activities during January. Congratulations to Cayden Thai who was sponsored by our club to the District RYLA 2026. Bernie and Peter attended the RYLA dinner and the graduation day at Knox Grammar. District Youth Chair, Bass was an inspiration for us all.
On 24th January, our District Governor Michele and I attended the Ryde Chinese Business Forum Pre Australia Day Luncheon. It was a community event with Kids Lions Dance and singing by Rotarian Rosanna Gallo.
Another successful Bunning BBQ was held on 17th January 2026 at the Gladesville Bunnings Warehouse. Thank you to everyone who came along and helped throughout the day. Our next Bunnings BBQ fundraiser will be Saturday 21 February. Please contact Garry Maloney email garry.maloney@hotmail.com if you can volunteer some time to help during the day.
Last weekend, it was our club's relaxing social breakfast at Cafe Sabu Cox’s Rd Mall. Some of us attended the District Picnic at Fagan Park Galston on the Sunday. It was a great turn out and an enjoyable lunch in the park. We met two new District Youth Exchange students and Tankun who is a Rotary Peace Fellowship recipient.
Saturday 7th March will be our Trivia Night, if you have any raffle prizes, please contact Pam Wood ph 0400803417 or mobile woodmal50@hotmail.com. Thanks to Bob and Brian for organising the event. Hope to see you there!
Best Regards
Mandy
