Hello Fellow Rotarians and friends,

 

Welcome to the new Rotary year. The club meeting on 1st July 2022 was my first meeting as the President of the club. It has been a privilege and an honour to take on the role of President of our club. Our club was charted on 5th June 1978 - it has been 44 years of service. Even though a small club, we have members who are passionate and enthusiastic who work together to accomplish a lot. It was great to receive your encouraging comments post the meeting and I look forward to a successful year ahead.

 

A few of our club members attended the District changeover on 2nd July 2022. It was a wonderful surprise to receive the Norm Roach Website Award for a small club. A huge thank you to Pam Wood who has put a lot of effort into the website and it is wonderful to have her hard work and our club recognised by our peers.

 

The board discussed our club’s support for the Uluru Statement from the Heart and agreed upon the way it will manifest on our website, on social media, in our newsletter and in our correspondence. We will continue to look at actively supporting projects that involve the indigenous community. Through Bob Selinger, OAM, we are making efforts at a district level to involve more Rotary clubs in the region.

 

Our upcoming meeting on 8th July will be a club planning session. The objective of this session will be to set goals for the club for the coming year. I urge all members to attend if possible. It will be fantastic to have everybody's input into this process.

 

Invites have gone out to club members, sponsors and supporters for the North Ryde eFun Run Thank you breakfast on 22 July at Dunmore Lang College. Please RSVP to Garry Maloney by 14 July 2022 regarding your attendance at the breakfast.

 

As evident from the district award, our website is a great source of information. You can look up the upcoming events on the website calendar at anytime. I encourage all our members to keep their information on ClubRunner up to date and utilise the website regularly. If you need any help with this, please do not hesitate to ask.

 

With the start of the new Rotary year, I would like to remind members of the Centurion program. Please consider the Rotary Foundation as a recipient of your donations.
