President's Message

Dear  Club Members and Friends,
Garry and I returned from our travels last night so I am only just catching up on all the Rotary news. This will be a brief bulletin this week and I will have more information for you next week.  I would like to thank Victoria for preparing the bulletin in my absence last week and Brian for running last Friday's club meeting. It is so reassuring to know there are many people willing and able to step in and help when needed.
I am looking forward to hearing about exchange student Helmiina's presentation on her life in Finland from last week. This week our guest speaker is Michael Grimas the General Manager from Vision Personal Training. Vision Personal training was one of our very generous sponsors and supporters of the Fun Run this year. Michael will be providing us with some great tips for staying fit and healthy.
The next meeting for the Carols on the Common will be held on Wednesday 19 September at 14 Agincourt Road, Marsfield commencing 7.30p.m.
The Carols on the Common is a major fundraising event for both North Ryde and Macquarie Park Rotary Clubs as well as being a wonderful community event. Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children (ROMAC) is the primary recipient of funds raised from the event. It is a great opportunity to meet members of community groups,  local businesses and local residents. If you haven't been involved in the past I can recommend coming along to the meetings and the event as a very worthwhile Rotary experience.
A reminder that the Rotary Club of Eastwood- Gladesville Trivia night is on this Saturday 15 September at the Shepherds Bay Community Centre, 3a Bay Drive Meadowbank. Barbara Lee has organised a table for our club if you would like to attend please let Barbara or me know, it should be a fun night.
Kind regards
Pam Wood
