Welcome to the first Bulletin of our Presidential Year!
Peter and I would like to thank Immediate Past President Mandy Van on a wonderful, productive and enjoyable year 2025-26. Your leadership and ability to juggle many balls all at once is inspirational Mandy. Congratulations! Under Mandy’s guidance, our Rotary Club of North Ryde has managed again to support our community and local charities to the tune of $70,000 in donations. No mean feat for a small club.
Our Changeover Dinner celebration on Friday 26 June 2026, was held at the North Ryde RSL. We welcomed 93 guests and awarded Rob Wilkinson the Paul Harris Fellow Award + 2 Sapphire pins. Rob, you are a true Community leader and embrace all things Rotary in your everyday life. It is a pleasure to have you in our Club, and as such a good friend.The evening was a great success, and Pete and I welcome our incoming Board. Our Board shuffle dance did get a few giggles. Comradery and friendships were celebrated. Thank you to Stephen Sim our wonderful MC who ensured the evening flowed smoothly and everyone enjoyed the night.
Saturday the 27 June 2026, we were bought together again for our District Governor's Celebration and Award lunch at the Wentworthville Leagues Club. Congratulations DG Michele on a wonderful year of leadership. DG Michele will continue to lead in the coming year. Congratulations to our club on receiving the District 9685 Small Club Award for services to Rotary and the Community in 2025-26.
We also received an Environment Award for our Gro Tree Initiative, thank you Bob Selinger OAM for all you work on this amazing initiative.We must congratulate Pam Wood on being recognised by District 9685 for services to Rotary by receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award + 2 sapphire pins for this past year. Pam, your work does not go unnoticed. You are a true leader, and we, as a club, appreciate all you do, thank you.
This Sunday, we will be welcoming some visitors from South Africa to Macquarie University, DGE Haran Ramachandran, has asked for our club to play host with District 9685, and we look forward to making new friends with the students and teachers. They are here to compete in the 2026 Lego Masters competition, which is being held at the Macquarie University. They will be staying at Dunmore Lang College from 5 July to 15 July 2026. We wish them well in their world competition.
