The club’s planning session was held on 8 July and it was great to see a majority of the members participating in the meeting. I will be circulating a copy of the planning document incorporating the feedback received from members. Please let me know if you have any further comments to add.
A theme that emerged out of the planning session was that we should start early with planning various activities. Our intention is to utilise a portion of the Club Assembly sessions to discuss and plan future club activities.
Several club members attended the Rotary Club of Macquarie Park Changeover dinner. It was a wonderful evening highlighting some great work being done by the club.
A core team from both the clubs led by Roseanna and Victoria met for the monthly planning session on Carols. The event is being planned to return to the North Ryde Common. A fair amount of ground was covered at the meeting. We plan to use technology to collaborate on the project more effectively. We will continue to update all other members involved with this event.
Please note that there will be no club meeting on 15 July. A reminder that the North Ryde eFun Run Thank You breakfast will be held on 22 July 2022 at Dunmore Lang college. Please advise Garry Maloney, if you haven’t already, by this Friday 14 July if you are going to be attending the breakfast.
The new District Governor Mina Howard’s official visit to our club has been planned for 16 September. More information will be shared closer to the visit.
The Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) is a multi-district leadership development program which seeks to provide Rotarians with a quality education in Rotary knowledge and leadership skills which is important in voluntary organisations. The concise weekend course is held Friday nights (6-7pm), Saturdays and Sundays either by Zoom or at a venue to be advised. The next course (Seminar 70) will be held in August (19/20/21). The RLI course is highly recommended especially if you want to take on a leadership position within the club or in the Rotary organisation, or if you simply want to learn more about Rotary.
COVID seems to be still spreading through the community and several of our members have already been impacted by it. Please take care.
